We had a long day at the photo shoots on sunday and now we´re just waiting to see the pictures. Thanks to my beautiful models Laura, Malla&Linda. Huge thanks to hair and make-up team Keiku and Priscilla/ HiusTrendi. And thank you Sanna for taking pictures <3

In the meanwhile I´m going to speak in front of an audience about my dream come true. (I Love dresses). I´m also going to speak about reusing old clothes and giving them a new “life”. For example this jeany´s dress was made out of a pair of old jeans.

Making of tulle skirt part.3

Hi!

Sorry I haven´t finished earlier my making of tulle skirt tutorial. I have been working and organizing  my next photo shoot session. Which is by the end of this week :)

But now here comes the final tutorial part and some pictures from my skirt.

Remember to read first part.1 and part.2

Now you should have all your single tulle layers gathered and it´s time to start sewing them together.

You need a piece of a lining fabric in size of your waist measure. Then pin one tulle layer on the other side of lining fabric like this. Then sew it.Image

Add another layer on the other side of the lining fabric. Continue like this until all your tulle layers are attached to the lining fabric.

Now you should have all your tulle layers sewed together into a lining fabric. Fold the lining fabric from the middle. Now you have all the tulle layers hanging down between the lining fabric. Then you need a satin ribbon to cover the lining fabric.

And the last thing you need to finish your skirt is a button or a press stud. I used them both.

Summer is here!!!

Making of tulle skirt part 2.

You can find making of tulle skirt part 1. from here

Now you should have lots of tulle so we can start cutting and sewing it into a skirt.

I have six meters of wedding tulle and two meters of basic tulle. I also have a 1,5 meters long satin ribbon and some lining fabric.

Now we need to cut all the tulle into single layers. I`m going to sew each layer separately. It´ll take some extra time but I promise in the end it´ll be worth it.

My waist measure was 68 cm. And I multiplied it by three so the measure is 204 cm. So I need to cut my 6 meters wedding tulle into three pieces.

After you have cut your tulle is time to start pleading it. Use pins and leave some space between the foldings.Image

Then it´s time to sew each layer one by one. Use widest stitch from your sewing machine.   Leave the other end open don´t tight it off. Image

Then it´s time to gather it up by pulling the string carefully.

Do the same thing to all your tulle layers. Will continue later on.. And please ask or send me email: you.love.dresses@gmail.com

Making of a tulle skirt part.1

First I got to say that there´s many ways to make a tulle skirt. So I´m not saying my tutorial is the one and only way to do it :)

Image

This tulle skirt has one layer of basic tulle and three layers of wedding tulle. There´s also separate underskirt made out of lining fabric.

Here we go.

First you need to measure your waist.

Image

You can also use a satin ribbon and ruler if you don´t have measure tape.

Image

Then multiply your waist measure by four. That´s the number how wide your tulle should be if you want your skirt to be really fluffy. I multiplied my own waist measure only by three so 68 cm x 3 = 204 cm (2,04 meters). And then add the amount of your tulle layers 2,04 m x 3= 6,12 m.

So I bought about six meters of bridal tulle and two meters of basic tulle. Now go to shopping to your local fabric store and we´ll continue later.

I bought my material from Eurokangas.
